"What do women look for when they see a man? LA Fashionista Daniela Hummel shares tips and tricks at the LA Dating Blog"

Daniela Hummel?! That's me!

I recently helped put together the third article in a series of six called "The Charming Gentlemen" on Eric Horwitz's LA Dating blog. This chapter covers Men's Fashion and is geared towards all those men in Los Angeles who don't know what to do with themselves when it's time to go shopping. My two main goals when talking with Eric were (1) to make sure I gave relevant information to a man on a budget and (2) to show men how to express their personalities through fashion. I gave Eric a ton of information which he had to compress but I will share some of my insights with you all soon!

I know this blog is mainly dedicated to all things girly, but I'm wondering...what is the male version of a bombshell?

Love from Shi

I'm back guys! ;)
One of the best love scenes ever...
I may just have to stay single for the rest of my life if I can't find this man..
Matthew Gray Gubler.
LHM.
This scene makes me happy.. until the sad part.
Also, Amber Heard is sa presh.

However, the deleted love scene... wow.
---------------------
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower
We will grieve not, but rather find
Strength in what remains behind.
---------------------
Sex.
---------------------
These violent delights have violent ends
And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,
Which, as they kiss, consume.
Romeo and Juliet, Act II, Scene VI
---------------------
All grown up and gorgeous!
---------------------
Cute.
---------------------
When I wake up in the sunlight
And look into your eyes
And I hold you for a little while
And I see behind your smile
I remember how beautiful I used to think you are
Now the only love that meant something is gone

I should have let you go when I saw that it was over in your eyes
What do I have to do to get rid of you
I’ll be better on my own
Now, I miss the sun, but as long as I’m with you
It’s just another rainy day in London

French Fraise-A-Day, Lesson 4

"French Fraise-A-Day"

Today, we are going to do something a little different for our French lesson!  I found this video on YouTube of an adorable little girl telling a made up story in French.  There is a translation of what she is saying so some of it is very easy to follow.  This is a good chance to learn some names of animals!

Can anyone tell me if her name is "Capucine" or if that means something in French?  It sounds so cute, like a little Cappuccino!

Bisou,
Daniela

Sweetheart, you're flying away

{photo: Casey Southall}

Amanda doesn't know I'm posting the beautiful picture of her and our friend Aubrey. Maybe she can figure out how to make those balloons fly towards Los Angeles...

This photo reminds me of those dreams you have, especially when you are little, and you're flying. Then when you wake up you try to actually fly by jumping off of your mother's bed...(I know I'm not the only one!)

Amanda's skirt and top are from Forever21. I think they ought to hire Casey for their next campaign! Tights: Urban Outfitters. Shoes: Aldo. Hair: Her ancestors.

Aubrey is wearing a dress which was an awesome thrift store find. Her hat is from the Icing! Get it, girl!

Te quiero,
Daniela

French Fraise-a-Day

"French Fraise-a-Day"

French Fraise

I am on a mission to re-learn French! I used to speak when I went to a French Elementary school and completely lost it through the years. Well, I am now determined to learn it again so when I go to back to France I can tell off that cab driver who took me around the same block twice just so that I'd have to pay him more! I'm no idiot, mister!

So, I am going to post a phrase or quote a day so that anyone who wants to, can learn a little bit along with me :)

Let's start with something easy to begin with:

"Je voudrais une fraise, s'il vous plait." -- "I would like a strawberry, please"

(Zhuh voodreh oo(n) frez, seel voo pleh)

Hehe I wanted to pick something that had the word "fraise" (strawberry) in it!

Stealing Beauty

I just saw these images on one of my favorite blogs, Dress Design Decor, and I had to make a post with them. The second and third images are of the French countryside but they instantly reminded me of one of my favorite movies (visually), Stealing Beauty directed by Bernardo Bertolucci. I highly recommend it for anyone who is a dreamer and loves the idea of taking off and traveling in search of themselves.

Wouldn't it be amazing to rent out a villa in Tuscany and spend your summer swimming, lounging around in the sun, writing, painting and having amazing dinners?

Waiting for the summer sun,
Daniela

P.S. Blogger made posting and adding photos so much easier!! THANK YOU!

Here's to fabulous women...

May we be them
May we know them
May we raise them

Love,
Daniela
Daniela Bella, this photo reminded me of you. And some guy. Who knows who he is. Maybe some french model you just happened to pass by while walking near the Eiffel Tower.

What do you see when you look in the mirror?

This is me, in my dreams. (Not so much skeleton though, please)

-d.

Trés jolie!

Absolutely DYING to go on a French vacation with my girlfriends! Not just to Paris, but the countryside and the Riviera. Early in the morning, dressed in our most elegant attire, we would enter the Pâtisserie, point out a baguette or a croissant with a perfectly polished finger then enjoy our breakfast (along with some coffee and fruit) at a small, round iron table with a few chairs. Some things are best enjoyed with the girls.

Lovin the backside

Backside of this outfit, I mean! I want to see the front now. Hmph! One thing I secretly never grew out of was wanting to dress up the same as my girlfriends and pretend we are "twins."

An imaginary world

Just found this picture on Tumblr and I had to post it. This picture is so gorgeous, I don't think I need to say much. It reminds me of the Secret Garden.

I love the dark black eye makeup with the coral lips (a look I have been replicate with no luck)...and then the matching coral rose and her black nails. Anyone else notice that? There is something so feminine but strong at the same time. Too bad no ever goes out really looking like this.

Imagine what this girl's life is like...

Still dreaming,
Daniela

Individual Ingredients

Do you ever wonder what exactly is in your food? I'm talking about the health benefits and nutrients in the individual ingredients you consume everyday.

Carolina Hummel is an aspiring chef and a bona fide fashionista with a talent for picking out both common and unusual individual ingredients and then creating recipes that not only feature, but enhance the special flavor unique to that single item. She infuses her love of all things beautiful (and tasty) in the kitchen. You won't find extremely complicated, expensive to compile recipes. I like to call her a modern minimalist chef--only the most functional and necessary elements are used. And boy, does she love ginger!

Ingredients blogged on so far include:
-String bean (her specialty)

You can find her blog here!

"A girl should be two things. Classy and Fabulous." -Betsey

BETSEY JOHNSON
<3

I am basically, in love with Miss Betsey. Her designs are exactly what my personality is. Fun, Flirty, Retro, Slightly Wild, Slightly classy, and Colorful.

Everytime I pass a Betsey Johnson boutique.. I don't actually pass it. I go inside. Everytime. Regardless of whether or not I'm in a hurry or can't afford it. Which 98% of the time, I can't. But.. so. When I'm in there, I'm in my happy bubble.

I mean, there's ruffles, and poofy dresses/skirts, and polka dots, and sailor stripes. A Pin-Up's dream really. & her accesories ROCK. I own some. Thank you Betsey for your awesome sunglasses, stockings and bows. I frequent that part of my drawer. & her SHOES! One day I will own an entire wall of her shoes.

I wanted to post this last pic on Valentine's Day, but I have a feeling I won't be near a computer anyway. So.. just look at that Dor'bleness. I can't help but think that these Betsey comic girls are: Shiona, Daniela, Amanda (myself) and Aubrey. Hey D! Just look at that cute lil' Panda in your hand.

Muchos Besos.
xoxo

Get swept away...

{Photos: Milla Jovovich by Carter Smith @ Dress Design Decor}

Don't you wish you were on a Mediterranean vacation with a wardrobe like this? Maybe Portofino or Capri? The south of France? This editorial is the essence of what I dream of every night before bed. I want to say the first two are my top favorites but, really, I love each and every photo here! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and we can dream together...

Hugs and Kisses,
